NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says it's "hard to imagine" Vikings WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) playing against the Redskins on Thursday night. Thielen (not surprisingly) said he was "optimistic" about his status for that one, but we're not putting much stock in that. Minnesota can win this game without him. Rapoport does add that this "doesn't seem like a major injury," so Thielen should have a good shot to be back for Week 9.

Cowboys DE Robert Quinn suffered a rib injury at the end of the 1st half of Sunday night's game against the Eagles and has been ruled out. Fortunately for him, Dallas gets a Week 8 bye. We'll see about the official diagnosis and return timeline here.

Cowboys LB Leighton Vander Esch left in the 2nd quarter of Sunday night's game against the Eagles with a neck injury. He's questionable to return.

UPDATE: Dallas has ruled Vander Esch out for the game. We'll see about his return timeline.

Jaguars OLB Najee Goode left in the 1st half of Sunday's win over the Bengals with turf toe and did not return. He had started his 2nd straight game since replacing rookie Quincy Williams. Jacksonville was using S Jarrod Wilson at nickel LB at 1 point in the 2nd half Sunday, so we can't just assume Williams will reclaim his previous role if Goode misses further time.

Cardinals RB David Johnson carried on the 1st possession of today’s game against the Giants and didn’t hit the field again. HC Kliff Kingsbury said afterward that Johnson was only going to play in a “need-based” situation with his bum ankle. Thanks for the heads-up, coach. RB Chase Edmonds exploded for 150 total yards and 3 scores in Johnson's place. We’ll be keeping a close eye on D.J. this coming week.

Cowboys WR Amari Cooper (quad) is active for tonight’s game against the Eagles. He only got in a limited practice on Friday and won’t be at 100%. Cooper made it through just 3 snaps before aggravating the quad injury last week. Tonight’s matchup is awesome, but Cooper comes with plenty of risk in fantasy lineups. WR Randall Cobb (hip, back) is also active.

Eagles CB Ronald Darby is active for tonight's game against the Cowboys, but it sounds like he's only an emergency option. Team insider Dave Spadaro says Darby "isn't expected to play much, if at all, unless there are injuries to CBs tonight," according to WIP's Joe Giglio. Expect Darby to find a larger role in Week 8.

Falcons RB Ito Smith was knocked out in the 1st half of today’s game against the Rams with what ESPN’s Vaughn McClure reports is a stinger. “Should be good,” McClure adds. We’ll keep an eye on Smith coming week.

Falcons QB Matt Ryan is scheduled for an MRI on his injured right ankle, but the team does not believe the injury is serious, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. It's worth noting that Atlanta has a Week 9 bye and might not want to rush Ryan back with their season circling the drain. We should get another update on his status tomorrow.

The Saints are planning to get QB Drew Brees (thumb) back for next week's game against the Cardinals, the FOX broadcast crew said during today's game against the Bears. That'd be 6 weeks after Brees suffered an injury that was expected to cost him 6 weeks. QB Teddy Bridgewater has played reasonably well in relief, but Brees' return will be a nice upgrade for the Saints offense. We'll track his status this coming week.
